Wordle Battle (the "Service") values your privacy and complies with applicable privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea. This policy explains what information the Service collects and how it is used.
1. Information we collect
| Type | Items | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Guest (not signed in) | Nickname, guest identifier cookie, game records & scores | Rankings, preventing duplicate nicknames |
| Account member | Username, password (stored encrypted), nickname, game records & scores | Account identification & login, rankings |
| Kakao member | Kakao member ID, Kakao nickname (with consent) | Social login, account linking |
| Apple member (iOS app) | User identifier Apple provides to this Service | Social login |
| App user | Device identifier created by the app, store receipt ID and expiry date | Verifying and restoring the ad-free subscription |
Passwords are stored as irreversible hashes (bcrypt); even the Service operator cannot read them.
2. Cookies
A guest identifier cookie is stored in your browser to keep your nickname and scores while not signed in. A language-preference cookie remembers your chosen site language. You can delete cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may reset your guest records.
3. Ads in the app
The app shows Google AdMob ads. AdMob may collect your advertising identifier (IDFA / Android advertising ID), IP address and device information to select ads and measure them. On iPhone you are asked for tracking permission first; if you decline, you see non-personalized ads. See Google's advertising policies. No ads are requested while the ad-free subscription is active.
4. Retention period
Collected information is kept while the Service is provided and deleted without delay when you delete your account. You can delete your account yourself from “Delete account” in the menu after signing in. Subscription receipt records may be kept after a subscription ends to handle refunds and disputes, and information is kept longer where the law requires.
5. Third parties
The Service does not sell or share your personal information. When you sign in with Kakao or Apple, only the minimum information required for authentication is exchanged with them, and subscription receipts are checked with Apple or Google.
6. Your rights
- You may change your nickname at any time.
- You can delete your account and records yourself from “Delete account” in the menu.
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and personal information.
